FOUNDERS

After many years of home bible study in his parent's home, Pastor Archie Dennis, Jr. embraced a higher call to preach God's word and to pastor a church. In April of 1986, Rev. Archie Dennis and "Mrs. D" gave birth to The Lord's Church of Pittsburgh, Inc., also known as "TLC."


Countless lives were impacted by Pastor Archie's pastoral leadership and gospel music ministry- including the establishment of the Pittsburgh Believers Convention. Additionally, "Mrs. D' was licensed and ordained as an Elder of The Lord's Church by Pastor Archie, November 29, 1992.

October 21, 2001, Pastor Dennis' last Sunday with the congregation, Pastor Dennis profoundly and publicly proclaimed to his faithful wife that every prophecy given to him over the years was for her to receive as well, since the Lord had made them "one." That day, Pastor Dennis spoke with an urgency that Rev. Claudette was getting ready to come out of her "comfort zone." Pastor Archie Dennis, Jr. went home suddenly to be with the Lord five (5) days after his prophetic words to "Mrs. D'--October 26,2001.


Reverend Claudette Y. Dennis (Pastor "D') was installed as the Pastor in July 2002. Under Pastor D's pastorate - who speaks with such wit and authority, TLC grew strong and was stabilized.

On August 30th-Pastor D (along with Apostle John Eckhardt) ordained her daughter-Niecy Dennis White [an 1999 Ordained Minister and Charter TLC Board Member] as TLC's legacy Lead Pastor. On October 27-Pastor D was ordained as Apostolic Overseer to TLC and other TLC Partner Churches. The church continues to advance its mission and live out its prevailing hallmark.

LEAD PASTORS

Since the heavenly transitions of both Rev Archie & Apostle Claudette Dennis, Pastor Niecy and her husband Curtis have taken up the mantle of leadership as lead pastors of The Lords Church [TLC].


What We Believe

THE HOLY SCRIPTURES are the infallible, inerrant, authoritative Word of God. II Timothy 3:16 - "All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness."


THE TRIUNE GOD - there is one, true God, eternally existent in three divine persons:


GOD THE FATHER: Creator of heaven and earth;


GOD THE SON: Jesus Christ our Lord is the Head of the Church; born of the virgin Mary, who was without sin; the vicarious sacrifice for the sin of all mankind through His death on the cross; who arose from the dead in His own glorified Body, ascended into Heaven, is now seated at the right hand of the Father, and will return to earth in power and glory; and,


GOD THE HOLY SPIRIT: John 16:8 He proceeds from the Father; is sent into the world to convict the world of sin, righteousness and judgment; He unites man to Jesus Christ in faith; brings about the new birth; indwells, comforts and guides the believer into all truth;


All three are fully God, three distinct Persons, all functioning as One.

Our Beliefs & Doctrinal Statements

SALVATION is the gift of God through grace and faith in Jesus Christ.

Romans 6:23 - "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is Eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." Salvation is by faith and a gift of God...not by our works.


THE CHURCH is the Body of Christ:

Ephesians 1:22-23 - "And he put all things under His feet, and gave Him to be head over all things in the church, which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills all in all." The Church is the Body of Christ whose task is to take the Gospel to all men in all nations and make disciples of them.


MAN (Mankind):

Genesis 1:27 - Man was created in the image and likeness of God. Through the original sin of Adam and Eve, mankind has fallen away from God and become sinful in nature. Man is totally incapable of returning to God in and of himself, and is lost - without hope - apart from the salvation of Jesus Christ.
